Short History of GEOS Marketing - Googly Eyes on Strategy

Hi, I'm Kurt, a certified Google Expert, a trained professional photographer, polyglot and digital marketing specialist  from Geneva, Switzerland. I help small and medium size businesses with their online visibility.

You can call me a  digital marketing specialist, a Google Business advisor, consultant, coach or strategist who got trained by the crème de la crème  in the Google community.

I started in 2019 and in 2022,  Google invited me to join their exclusive Product Expert Community where I help marketing agencies and businesses with issues in Google Search, Google Business Profile and Google Maps. Since then, I attend weekly & monthly meetings with multiple Google teams, and it is the place where I acquire knowledge and tips that I can use to help. I am proud to be part of the Google community that counts less than 150 Product Experts of the GBP worldwide.

In September 2024,  Google decided to recognize my expertise and awarded me with their highest distinction: the diamond label. I am very happy and honored that Google admitted me to the select group that has less than 50 members worldwide.

At the Product Expert Summit in Zurich in 2024, I had the privilege to gain valuable insights directly from Google Search experts John Mueller and Danny Sullivan,  Google Maps teams and   Google Business Profile teams who flew in from other parts of the world. I joined other  summits in Austin (TX, USA), São Paulo (Brasil) and Gurgaon (India).

I also participate in experiments related to Google and in 2024, we performed an experiment to try to find out the impact of a high level  Google Local Guide on the GBP. The results showed that the level very likely has an important impact.  The experiment was ultimately published in the  The Washington Post  ('The third one' in the article refers to my action, having the highest possible grade, Google Local Guide  level 10) and was initially published by Near Media (a company specialised in local SEO and founded by Mike Blumenthal, Greg Sterling and David Mihm ). I sometimes participate in other experiments that are organised by Google as well. 

Google also invited me to the PES2025 in Dublin and in November 2026, I will be present at the PES2026 in Barcelona. 

More personal stuff ? 

I like history, economics, plurality,  Aikido, National Geographic, the city of Vienna, museums, design & architecture. Yes, coffee, chocolate and biscotti morbidi al limone too.
